We have arrived back from our holidays to find the Sheffield landscape changed.

where are our towers?

 

The two large cooling towers that had marked the entrance to Sheffield had been demolished in quite spectacular fashion. The BBC news website has the best videos around, go here to check it out http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7579430.stm

I can’t say I feel strongly about them being demolished but it is unusual to see a big empty space where before there were two towers. Here is another video of the action.
